„The Museum [creates] a public square to be an exterior Area given to the city that serves as a transition between the city an the museum.“ Concerning the strongly frequented streets limiting the plot, the central public space is protected from traffic noise immission by the building itself.

Origin of Symmetry

Historically seen, mathematics, especially in the categories of geometry and symmetry, played a major role in the planning and construction of outstanding buildings. Olympieion, Panathinaiko Stadium, Zappeion and classic sporting grounds are prominent examples for this method. Taking this into consideration a new Olympic Museum must refer to the forementioned principles to achieve adequate historical and urban integration. Using the idea of the physical movement of an athlete enhances the classic principles and generates a sophisticated and contemporary interpretation of the mathematical paradigm.
