The situation somewhat isolated, conditioned the operation of the architectural design of the house in two ways: on the one hand tried to intervene was a natural and relatively little busy, and the other resources in terms of local workforce lacks expertise imposed restrictions on the practical conduct of the work.
The project is located in an area of 0.5 hectares in the town of Tunquén, spa with a recent plot to flourish summer tourism, located approximately 2 hours from Santiago. Specifically Sector of El Rosario Tunquén, V Region, Chile.
From the standpoint of the perception of the place, and as the first decision of the foundation, provided a virtual volume parallel to the sea, a safe distance from the cliff in order to find a middle ground between the shelter and the feeling natural base of observing the horizon. This volume was formalized through a folded sheet, which in a sense envolvería and intermediate areas of the house. In this operation, it said the configuration of a wall of container services, to protect the house from view from access.
The house is organized around a circuit of continuous movement, which achieves longer travel times and time to allow the contemplation of the landscape in the tour. The ribbon of concrete up to the translation of the formal system.
• On the first floor:
Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, dining room, kitchen and a large terrace sheltered from the wind.
• On the second floor:
A bedroom and a bathroom with an open observation platform environment
The implementation of two stairways that connect the two levels of the house, located in the interior space of bedrooms, and in outer space terraces, will close the circuit and provide alternative employment, in addition to inviting bodies of meetings and meetings, or isolates, according to the requirements of its inhabitants.
Materially, the house consists of a continuity of exterior walls and slabs of reinforced concrete in sight, shuttering with untreated wood, away from technical and sophisticated in their finishes.
The meeting of the wall with tape backup blade is resolved to avoid their union, creating a rift that leaves the ocean and appreciate the understanding that allows the slab and not as a heavy body, but as an ethereal and stripped of gravity.
Finally, steel pillars help to structure the ribbon of concrete at the glass parallel to the sea, giving a sense of lightness and permeability particularly housing.
Reinforced concrete, steel and glass. The longitudinal wall access and container services, which folds to the north, took the place of stone, like the terraces above. The floor was covered terraces with outdoor wood special supporting inclement sun, water and salt.
