[edit] Introduction

Alberto Lloréns is one of the young talents in the world architecture, born in Mexico of Catalan parents. Lloréns has a great contemporary style that invokes monumental structures with the strength of the materials in the region, adding a touch of Mediterranean that gives this explosive mixture an air of grandeur and freshness.

[edit] Situation

In the foothills of the Sierra Madre Oriental in Monterrey, Mexico, the Alla House features truly spectacular views in 360 degrees.

[edit] Concept

The concept architect Alberto Lloréns had for the project was for the Alla House to be a window framing the Sierra Madre, of unparalleled natural beauty.

[edit] Spaces

It is a perfectly harmonized residence of 1,300 square meters, featuring a formal hall, poker hall, theatre room, 6 bedrooms, a 10 car garage, pool, dance and music room, jacuzzi with a 270° view from the second floor, etc...

[edit] Structure

One of the major challenges for Lloréns in the construction of the project was the bearing load capacity of the soil. Being in the foothills of the Sierra Madre, the soil tends to be very soft because it is made up of alluvial deposits in the form of almendrilla flagstone and sediments over millions of years, so he opted for a system of reinforced concrete pillars for its foundation. It is worth mentioning that all the concrete and cement were supplied by the company CEMEX.

[edit] Materials

The materials used are characteristic of the designs of Llorens, from the flagstone in intense shades of rust and ocher, the Egyptian marble of the first civilians of mankind, the sacred fir beams, tzalam doors, and volcanic rock in the Lake and reefs found at the scene. They give a perfect balance with the environment and topography of the site.
